The Canada-Nova Scotia Infrastructure Secretariat (CNSIS) administers the federal-provincial agreements that provide funding to infrastructure projects in Nova Scotia. The CNSIS helps communities access funds to improve their infrastructure – contributing to healthy, vibrant, sustainable communities.
The CNSIS administers the following programs:
- Building Canada Fund - Communities Component
- Building Canada Fund - Communities Component Top Up
- Building Canada Fund - Major Infrastructure Component
- Infrastructure Stimulus Fund
- Municipal Rural Infrastructure Fund
- Federal Gas Tax Fund
- Federal Public Transit Fund
- Canada-Nova Scotia Infrastructure Program
This website
- provides information on the infrastructure programs funded by the Government of Canada and the Province of Nova Scotia and available to Nova Scotia municipalities, transit organizations and other eligible organizations;

helps program participants meet their requirements for funding -- providing the necessary information and plans on time;

informs Nova Scotia communities of leading practices on infrastructure development and asset management;

provides best practices for community sustainability; and

helps to strengthen the capacity of municipalities to carry out long-term planning and infrastructure development.
